Introduction

Virtual Profit Sharing is a loyalty reward program for customers of Online Connections who refer new clients.

I know most people are happy to refer someone to me and a thank you is often considered more than enough. However I wanted to help those who help me more than with a thank you. Since I and my family benefit as the result of income you help us receive, it only felt fair that I share a portion of the income. When I benefit my desire is that you also benefit.

If for you a thank you is enough, then please accept the money with my thanks and then donate it to your favourite charity. How you use the money is entirely your choice.

What products and services are part of Virtual Profit Sharing?

Virtual Profit Sharing is now part of most of my business activities. I have two aspects to my business. My consulting business Online Connections and my advertising service JustLocal. I also have what I'd call a hobby which is my preferred Australian English spelling interest. I've updated most of my systems so that should you refer someone with a special link, you will receive a profit share.

Below are the products and services which  are part of Virtual Profit Sharing.

How much is the profit share?

I wanted to share enough so it was generous but didn't overly impact my ability to run my business. In general, for time based services the profit share is 9% in the first year of the client referral and 4.5% in future years. Yes that's right. It isn't a once off profit share but an ongoing profit share. I believe if I continue to benefit then so should you.

In general, for sales of products and services the profit share is 15% of the clear profit in the first year and 7.5% in future years. That is the profit is the selling price less all direct costs associated with the sale.

I've said in general the percentage rates apply. There will be times where the percentage for products or services will need to differ for a good business reason. The percentage may be more or it may be less, but I will let you know what the margin will be in advance.

How much does it cost to participate in Virtual Profit Sharing?

It doesn't cost a cent. As a customer is it my way of saying thank you.

Are there any conditions?

Yes. They are however quite straight forward.

• You receive profit share on purchases by others you refer.
• I ask that payments you receive be treated as confidential.
• Your participation is as a hobby.
• All payments are paid to you personally and not to a business
• There is no legally binding agreement between you and the businesses participating in Virtual Profit Sharing. All payments are at the discretion of Online Connections.
• I ask that you are upfront with others when you refer. Let them know you'll receive a small thank you payment if they purchase. This won't affect their price, or their desire to purchase, but we feel being open with people we know is the right thing to do.
• Whilst any customer of Online Connections is welcome to participate in VPS (which we'll then notionally refer to as VPS members), those who become inactive customers will after 24 months of inactivity, will no longer receive a profit share.
• I reserve the right to decide who can be and remain a VPS member.
• VPS members need to have a bank account in their name to receive money.
• The minimum profit share payment is $5 for the month. Smaller amounts may be paid at the discretion of Online Connections.
• Profit share is paid up to six weeks after the end of the month, once all money is clear. Should a refund be required to a customer for whatever reason, a refund of the profit share will be required.
• Please keep in mind Virtual Profit Sharing is not on your own purchases, but on the purchases of others you refer.

The above is a general overview of the conditions of Virtual Profit Sharing. I reserve the right to amend conditions as I find unexpected events occurring.

What products and services can I refer people to?

The following are products and services currently available.

In order to receive credit for a referral, each member will be provided with a unique code and links they can provide to others. The links can be used in emails, or on websites. However I do ask that you do not represent yourself in any way which may mislead people or damage the Online Connections' reputation. You can also refer people to us by letting us know, or by asking the person to let us know you referred them.

	Microsoft Office/Word Exclude file. Do you use Microsoft Office 2007/2008/2010/2011 or Word 2003? If you prefer "organise" to "organize", the Exclude file for Microsoft Office and Word will fix this for over 2,400 words, improving the spellcheck results for Australian users.
	Word Check Word Check enables you to see if you're using the preferred Australian English spelling. Most people tested so far have only scored 7 out of 10 or less. The problem is the language continues to evolve and when we leave school, not only have we picked up some bad spelling habits, but our spelling doesn't evolve. Modernise your spelling.
